Crux's Mountain Adventures

Turns out man's best friend is also man's best climbing partner! Crux enjoyed kibbles atop his first summit when he was only 3 months old. In the decade that followed, he became a peak-bagging pooch second to none, leaving paw prints in over 100 summit registers and accompanying our growing family on countless adventures.

On January 30th, 2023, Crux the Dog peacefully went on to his final “summit”, with loving kisses and “scritches” from his family. Most will remember Crux as a mountain dog; during his nearly-11 years with us, he stood atop 112 peaks, visited even more valleys and swam in countless, cool mountain lakes. We will remember Crux as a constant, steady companion; as a source of deep and unconditional love; a fixture in our home; as the world’s most effective pre-rinse for dishes; a connoisseur of fine cheese and as the best big brother that sisters Mera, Penny and Lillian could ever have asked for. Our family is smaller today and we are heartbroken. We were so lucky to share our lives with Crux and he will be deeply, deeply missed.
